Quilt 4: Traveling in Texas

25 10 2011

Quilt visiting in TexasQuilt 4 started its journey through Texas with the Upper Elementary students at The Clariden School in Southlake.

At first, students thought it was Quilt 7, which had visited last year. They were looking for teacher Mrs. Boucher’s square & were surprised to learn that there are a total of 7 quilts traveling around the country.

They examined Quilt looking for words of encouragement for mushers.  Some drew their favorite squares. These words & pictures will be used later in the year to support a rookie musher.

Quilt was handed off to its next school at the Iditarod Education Department workshop that was held at Clariden.  Safe travels, Quilt!
